I received this email today from my local SPCA and I wanted to share it because, even if you don’t live in the same area I do, it’s still a great reminder to support your local animal shelters as often as you can!
“Dear Friend,
We hope this message finds you well.
We are reaching out today because the Niagara SPCA is currently in urgent need of financial support as we continue caring for animals who rely on us every single day.
Our shelter has recently experienced an especially heavy level of cruelty, neglect, and abandonment cases, placing an extraordinary strain on our staff, resources, and available space. Many of these animals arrive needing immediate medical attention, proper nutrition, rehabilitation, and significant time and care before they are ready for adoption. Despite these challenges, we remain committed to being there for every animal who needs us.
As a nonprofit no-kill rescue organization, we do not receive funding from New York State or Niagara County to operate. We depend heavily on the generosity and compassion of our community to continue providing shelter, ongoing medical care, food, supplies, rehabilitation, and second chances to animals in need.
In addition to the daily care of our animals, our shelter is also facing the need for important future improvements and upgrades in order to comply with evolving New York State shelter guidelines and continue providing safe and proper housing for the animals in our care.
If you are already currently supporting the Niagara SPCA, please accept our heartfelt thank you. Your kindness and generosity truly mean the world to us and the animals we serve. We simply could not continue this lifesaving work without the support of our community.
If you are not currently supporting our shelter, we would be incredibly grateful if you would please consider donating to us during this critical time.
One of the biggest areas we are currently working to improve is increasing our number of monthly donors to help create more stable and reliable ongoing revenue for our organization. We are also seeking one-time donations to assist with important shelter improvements, ongoing animal care, medical expenses, food, and supplies.
Any amount truly helps.
Whether it is:
- a monthly recurring donation,
- a one-time contribution,
- sponsorship support,
- food or supply donations,
- or simply sharing our mission with others,
your support directly impacts the lives of animals who need us now more than ever.
Even a small monthly gift helps provide stability and ongoing care for the many animals who come through our doors every single day.
If you would like to support the Niagara SPCA, donations can be made here:
From all of us at the Niagara SPCA, thank you for taking the time to read our message, for believing in our mission, and for considering standing with us during this especially challenging time. Every donation, every sponsorship, and every act of support helps us continue giving vulnerable animals the safety, care, and second chances they deserve.
