In this video, I’ll give you several ideas on how to break up a cat fight. I’ll also give you links to two articles plus another video on the reasons why cats fight to begin with and the (very easy!) steps you can take to prevent cats from fighting. I’ll also give you information and link for an inexpensive, effective cat training program in case you need more help. Thank you for watching! Debra
Breaking up a cat fight can be very dangerous. Never try to reach your hand into a cat fight – don’t try to pick up one of the cats, don’t try to grab one of them, and don’t hit them. Doing these things can escalate the fight, and result in your getting seriously injured. Cat scratches can cut very deep into the skin on your hands, arms and face. Do make sure you keep at a safe distance. Like we discuss in the video, inserting a broom between the two cats is safer and more effective, as is “scooping up” one of the cats with a swoosh of an umbrella.
Preventing Cat Fights
Learning the reasons why cats fight, then learning how to solve those issues, is the easiest, fastest and most effective way to stop the fights to begin with. Refer to my article, How to Keep Cats from Fighting for much more detailed information about why cats fight and the very easy steps you can take to get the issues solved.
Please Be Careful!

In this video, we’ll discuss how to keep cats from fighting. The best way to handle this issue is to 1) figure out the reasons why the cats are fighting and 2) eliminate or solve the issue(s). We’ll talk about several reasons why cats fight and I’ll give you concrete, effective ways to solve the issues. I’ll also refer you to an inexpensive, effective cat training program, as well as give you the link to a video about how to break up a cat fight. Thank you for watching! Debra
In the video, we discussed several reasons why cats fight. Most commonly, it’s a matter of competition, territory or jealousy. Some cats just don’t like sharing their stuff, whether it’s their food dish, their bed, or their litter box. Others see the other cat as someone who is stealing your love and attention. And less common, a cat will fight because they are frightened and don’t see any other alternative.
How to Stop Cats from Fighting
The best way to stop cats from fighting is to first understand the reason why they’re fighting – for example, are they fighting over the food dish? The litter box? A toy? And second, to figure out ways to eliminate or solve the issue. The answer may be as simple as giving them each their own food dish, to having two separate litter boxes, or even making sure you’re giving each cat equal time and attention.
I Hope This Has Helped!

In this video, we’ll discuss a checklist of things you’ll need for a new kitten. We’ll cover practical supplies as well as which food to get for your kitten, how to cover vet bills, getting health insurance for your kitten, and kitten training. Thanks for watching! Debra 🙂
What Do I Need for a New Kitten?
Preparing for a new kitten involves far more than just purchasing a cat bed and a few kitten toys. It is essential that you prepare yourself and your home for a lifetime with your kitten, making sure you are meeting all of the kitten’s needs. You need to educate yourself about cat training. You need information about which food is best to feed your kitten, and what cats should eat. You’ll need supplies for basic grooming. You’ll need to find a local veterinarian and get your kitten established as a patient there. You need to know which shots a kitten needs, and you should make arrangements to have her/him spayed or neutered.
In the video above, I offer resources for cat training, help with vet bills, where to buy supplies for your kitten inexpensively. And I offer good, practical advice, based on my many years of cat ownership, that will help you and your kitten to have a long, happy life together.
Checklist for a New Kitten
Food and water dishes
Litter box and litter
Collar and ID tag
Cat training information
Pet health insurance
Each of these items are discussed in detail in the video above.

In this video, I’ll give you information on how to train your cat to stop biting. We’ll talk about why cats bite, and how to stop it. I’ll give you some tips within the video, and I’ll also refer you to an inexpensive, thorough cat training audio program that will help you with the issue of cat biting and other cat behavior issues as well. Cat training can be tricky because cats are not like dogs. Dogs actually care about what we think. Dogs generally want to please us and do what we’re asking. Dogs are quite gullible and easily persuaded. LOL Cats, on the other hand, are usually none of these things. Cats (except the really sweet ones, which I was lucky enough to have more than one of), generally think they are Masters of the Universe and we should please THEM. Know what I mean? LOL
So even though cat training can be tricky, it’s not impossible. And as long as you’re coming from a place of loving your cat and caring about him, your efforts will be effective in training your cat to behave in a way that’s best for you, and best for him.
Ways to Stop Your Cat from Biting

I highly recommend this cat training program, because it works. It’s thorough, effective training for your cat, for not only biting, but other cat behavior issues as well.

In this video, we’ll talk about how to get a cat to use the litter box.
We’ll discuss the things you need to do to get your cat to use the litter box, and we’ll also discuss the reasons why they may not want to. Thanks for watching! Debra 🙂
The best way to get your cat to use the litter box is to follow these steps:
Make sure the litter box is clean
Put the litter box in a location that’s easy for the cat to get to
Don’t use scented cat litter
Get each cat a separate litter box if they won’t share
Always make sure there isn’t a medical problem if your cat stops using the litter box
Why Won’t My Cat Use the Litter Box?
The most common (and serious) issue that prevents a cat from using a the litter box is a medical problem. Your cat may have a urinary tract infection (common in cats) that causes pain with urination. Your cat actually thinks it has something to do with the litter box and is trying to find someplace to pee that doesn’t hurt. If your cat stops wanting to use the litter box or starts peeing on the carpet, on the bed, or in other areas of your home, please take the cat to the vet immediately for a simple urine test to see if there is a problem.
Also, your cat may not like sharing with other cats. If you have more than one cat, you may need to get more than one litter box. Some cats insist that the litter box be clean. You should scoop the litter box at least every other day, and completely change the litter weekly. Also, make sure your cat isn’t having a problem getting to the litter box. For example, if your cat has become elderly or is sick, they may be having a problem actually getting to the litter box.
I hope this helps! Thanks so much for visiting. Debra 🙂
